WINTER SOLSTICE

Rosie Wee

When Autumn tips the sun
And night grows long
It's Winter's turn
To cast another dawn

In sequined shoes
She sprinkles gossamer flakes
Deftly she pirouettes
As rooftops and brambles she drapes

With sylph like grace
She spreads her pearly gown
Waltzing her way
On barren ground

The street light throws
A pallid glow
While spring weaves in
Another season brings

Soft memories melt my lashes
In Winter's wrap of amethyst I remember
Hushed night echoes my Lord's whisper
December.
